Mumbai Equities are set to open flat to softer on Wednesday, tracking subdued Asian peers, but a steep fall is unlikely as the sentiment and liquidity that drove the market to its highest close since May 2008 remain intact.
Asian shares were trading lower, with the MSCI's measure of Asian markets other than Japan down 0.5 per cent by 0334 GMT, and Japan's Nikkei down 0.2 per cent.
