On Tuesday, "The Blind Side" will be released on DVD, with Sandra Bullock's Oscar-winning performance available for home viewing. It's a fine, heartfelt performance, to be sure — finer than the movie it's in — but it's hardly the best for Bullock, an underrated actress who's been in a few too many mediocre movies. Should you be wanting more Bullock this week, here are a few good bets:
"The Proposal" (2009)
Bullock has a rare screwball-comedienne knack for physical comedy, and she shows it off to good effect in this by-the-book rom-com (watch the way she handles stiletto heels when kneeling on a sidewalk). If the bland Ryan Reynolds could have been swapped for Hugh Grant (Bullock's sparring partner in 2002's "Two Weeks Notice"), then we'd really have something.
